How to draw scenery of spring season step by step with soft pastel

ABOUT PICTURE

Hi I am Dilip Sarkar, again I am here with a soft pastel video of nature. I have drawn a nature painting of spring. I have given all the information which can let you know how to draw this painting. As you all know I love nature painting. So this is another one. I got this view when travelling abd I have put into paper. I hope you all will love this enjoy.

HOW TO DRAW STEP BY STEP (SOFT PASTEL)

STEP 1: In the first step I have made the sky area. It is very easy step if you go right way. So Fist I have put blue, pink and white in the sky making a kind of inverse triangle shape because I will put some other variation of the sky later. Then i blurred it softly. (Follow the picture for more)

STEP 2: Now in the middle of the sky I have put some white then yellow then mixing it giving white again. So it gives really an effect of very light shining of the rising sun in the morning when there is fog above the mountains.

STEP 3: Then I have put blue and white in the sides of that triangle shape to fulfill our sky and mixed it I mean blurred it remembering that the color does not go in to that shining part.

STEP 4: Now the mountain part. It’s also easy but it’s the part to take care. Here I have drawn the border of the mountain with blue and filled it with blue and brown but I blurred very gently and softly in the way that the does not turn into black. Some part may take the dark effect like black so that’s OK. If it’s the shadow part of the mountain then there is no problem like I have made the left part of the mountain little darker because that’s the shadow part of the mountain here. And below the mountain I have used blue and white (mostly white) and mixed it little bit like it seem to have fog there and fairness.

STEP 5: Now I have lighted the mountain. There was already brown color so we have to give light color in one side and other will be shadow part and it itself will show the ups and downs of the mountain. So I have lighted with yellow ochre first then I have used white to get lights and the yellow ochre will show the inner shadows of the part where light has fallen. Check out the video as to see how I did that. And lastly give little more white in the lower part of the mountain to have some more fog. I have not given white so much in the first time when I put white on the below of the mountain because if the painting demands some more fog there for its beauty I can add some as I did but if it does not, then it would be waste and it could minimize the beauty of the paintings.

STEP 6: then I have drawn the ground with brown and used blue in some part as shadows and edge where made the trees to have some bushes. Basically it will be the shadows of the trees and the bushes when I will put green on that as leaves. And I have drawn some big trees along with some small trees.

STEP 7: Now in the right side I have drawn another hill with blue color. Because, this kind of scenery we see many variation as mountain color. And then I have also drawn the ground of the right side with the same color combination as I did in the left side.

STEP 8: Then I have detailed the left hill with deep blue in some places as the shadow. (See picture for better placement). And i have also drawn some trees in the right side. Use the same method for shadows like using blue in some places in the ground as I did in the left side. Here I have also done the road with brown and light blue and some white and blurred it gently. Check out the video for better understanding how I blurred.

Step 9: Now this is very interesting part. It is basically the detailing part. Here I have put some orange as the in the shadows of the mountain in the far. And then also i added some more light in the lighted parts. And you can use white in some shadow part also but in some places and also in a very blurred way just to get the effect of some light which have fallen very little. But you are a very beginner the there is no need to do it. And I also added some green in the trees to get the lighted leaves and also in the ground to have the bushes and also added some detail with yellow for flowers and white for some very lighted part of the bushes. But use the soft pastel it like giving some dots for the flowers. (see picture or video to know how it exactly did that).

The leave less tree in the above shot is optional if you like you can give if you don’t then there is no need. Because I have taken this short twice once adding this and not adding to show that this picture can look so beautiful in both the pictures.
