How to use soft pastels on paper, Solar Systems In Our Galaxy - acrylic & soft pastel

ABOUT PICTURE

I am very fond of finding new art in my paintings. I saw many people drawing galaxy or space painting with acrylic colors. But here I am trying to do a new technique to draw solar system which is with both soft pastel and acrylic colors. I hope my article will help you.
Tools:soft pastels on paper, acrylic colors, brush

STEP 1: In the first step I drew the sun. To make the sun along with the expanding galaxy as you all know our galaxy THE MILKY WAY I drew an oval inner shape of the sun with red soft pastel and to make it brighter I put deep yellow in the center of that.

STEP 2: After the inner part of the sun, here comes the expanded area of the surrounding of the sun with the galaxy so that I put blue and rubbed it in a rounded way and gave an expanding effect. Then used pink in the blue area and rub it. I used pink basically to give a realistic color combination of space. Then I included some more detain with brown in some areas.

STEP 3: Now my favorite step, really it is very interesting step, to make the stars. As we all know we can’t make one or two stars we have to make infinite stars. So for that I took a brush with orange acrylic color and spread it in all the paper then again took white and did the same. Now you will have the stars.

STEP 4: It’s a very small step but important. In the step 3 the stars are so small, it basically shows stars away. But we also should draw some more stars bigger than the small stars. So again I have chosen white but this time I did not spread it. I simply drew some oval shape and also some round shape stars in little blur effect as in the picture..

STEP 5: Now in the surrounding of our sun there is many other planets. So here I draw a round planet with its sub-planet.First use orange for the Saturn planet, yellow ochre for the ring, then blue for the sub planet and then pink on the blue understanding light and dark effect.

STEP 6: Now the earth part. Here at first I used blue with soft pastel normally. Then used some green for the yellow and green part of the earth. Here comes the light and dark effect as the light coming from the sun I used black for the dark effect in the right corner and whit at the left as it is in front of the sun. And as you all know there is more water in earth so I used white in many places for the water part. And at last I made a little star type light effect in the side of the earth which is in front of the sun.
